Do you know Alison Green? She’s the wildly successful blogger behind Ask A Manager. If you haven’t been to her website or followed her on Twitter, you’re missing out. Alison gives the best career advice in the industry.

I’ve been watching Alison for over a decade, and she never ceases to amaze me. She’s an influential writer who offers pragmatic and sensible advice. And every time someone reaches out to me for information on how to resolve a work-related dispute, I send them to Alison’s blog. She’s answered every question ever asked.

HR Book Club Book of the Month

Alison Green wrote a new book called, “Ask A Manager: How to Navigate Clueless Colleagues, Lunch-Stealing Bosses, and the Rest of Your Life at Work.”

Her book is fantastic, and I have one copy to give away because it’s our #HRBookClub selection for May. Go to our Facebook page and leave a comment on this post. I’ll select a winner.

And, yes, we’ll all read the same book as a community and have a chat on May 30, 2018. Details to follow.

Why You’ll Like this Book

Alison is no stranger to the HR world, and many of your favorite HR bloggers are fans. Likewise, Alison is a fan of the HR community. It would be easy for her to mock HR for its ineffectiveness or jump on the bandwagon and make fun of us, but she doesn’t do that. She has befriended many of us and speaks respectfully of the role of human resources.

Because many of us love Alison, we’ve watched her career grow alongside ours and are more than thrilled to champion this new book!

So, to recap, we’re reading “Ask A Manager.” I know you’ll love the book. Let me know what you think of this selection by tweeting with the hashtag #HRBookClub. If you don’t want to read it that’s fine. Read something else.

You can read 12 books in 2018. I believe in you. And even if you’re nowhere near meeting that goal, you can start now. “Ask A Manager” is a good place to begin.
